2010-03-02Brief Report of the Council Meeting held on March 2, 2010
1. Opening (7:35 p.m.): Elder Tim Van’t Foort leads the devotions. He reads John 17:6-
16, council sings “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross”, and Tim leads in prayer.
Absent are: Rick Johnston & Tim VanGilst.
2. Council approves the Minutes of the Feb. 2nd ,2010 meeting of council.
3. Council approves the transfer of memberships of Jonathan & Trish DeJong and their 2
baptized children, Gabriel & Chloe, to Ottawa-Calvary CRC (Living Hope).
4. Council and the pastor go over the results of the Pastoral Performance Evaluation
which the members completed at the Feb. meeting. Council is very pleased with the
work of the pastor, and the chairman conveys that satisfaction to our pastor.
5. Council deals with a few items of correspondence.
6. The Worship Com. has come up with some events/services which council approves.
Worship United Choir – March 31, Lord’s Supper – Good Friday –April 2, Annual
Day of Prayer: April 11.
7. The Pastor presents his monthly report for Feb., 2010, showing all the church related
activities he was involved in.
8. Council approves the Pastor’s Holidays which run from April 15 – May 13 and
they include 4 Sundays.
9. The meeting of Classis is briefly discussed and tasks are assigned or affirmed:
transportation, food, speaker-system, registration, accommodation, etc.
10. The Church Visitors plan to be here on April 6, 2010.
11. Closing (10:10 p.m.): Elder Van’t Foort leads in a closing prayer.
